A Wintery Jaunt up Ben Lomond

Ben Lomond is a personal favourite of mine. In terms of raw mountaineering excitement, it’s pretty chill, but the snow and thick ice always add a bit of adventure. It holds a soft spot in me as it was my first Munro at nine years old. It’s only an hour away from me, and the cracking views from the summit make it the perfect choice for a short day out.

The weather was spot on—clear blue skies and barely a breath of wind. It was great to get the crampons on again and trudge through the snow and ice.
